My Work

Writing Samples

Subway Sidekicks

To launch Subway’s new value snack menu, I crafted an informative press release detailing the announcement, coordinated its distribution via Businesswire, and pitched it to key lifestyle and industry media outlets. I also secured a paid inclusion in lifestyle publication Daily Hive – see the press release here and article here.

Subway Breakfast + Snackwiches

To promote Subway's expanded availability for breakfast and snacks throughout the day, I took the lead in writing and distributing a press release. You can view the press release here.

Never Miss Lunch

I spearheaded media relations for Subway’s fifth consecutive Never Miss Lunch initiative, designed to fight child hunger in Canada. I wrote and distributed the press release, developed a targeted media list, and coordinated lunch deliveries to local radio stations nationwide to secure on-air coverage. Please see the press release here and a fact sheet for broadcast media here.

Cold and Flu Roundup

I successfully secured a paid opportunity to feature four clients in a cold and flu season roundup in a lifestyle publication. I wrote an article that highlighted the benefits of each product, positioning them as essential for maintaining health during the fall and winter months. You can view the article on HOLR Magazine here.

Gift Guide Roundup

For the holiday season, I secured a paid article placement in the popular lifestyle publication VitaDaily, presenting an 'All-Canadian' gift guide that exclusively featured our clients. I authored the piece, highlighting small Canadian brands and promoting a shop-local perspective. Please see the article here.

My Work

Events

Grey Goose

I worked on Grey Goose Vodka’s integrated agency team to help plan a glamorous Paris Fashion Week themed cocktail party, coordinated a partnership with Fashion Magazine, and led an influencer program that spread awareness of the campaign on social media. Please see the Fashion Magazine article here, and event recap here.

Yesway

I worked on Subway Canada’s integrated agency team to plan community-based events in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal. I managed media and influencer invitations for all three events, led an influencer program to amplify key messaging and encourage attendance, engaged top-tier media and journalists, and showcased results in the wrap report, linked here.

D’usse x Nostalgia

I played a key role in organizing a two-part event with D’usse Cognac and Fat Joe to celebrate hip hop music and inspire aspiring artists. I supported many aspects of the event, including the guest list, celebrity partnerships, venue selection, run of show, and execution. Please view earned coverage of the event here and here.

My Work

Influencer Campaigns

Arm & Hammer Baking Soda

I managed an influencer program which demonstrated STEM activities for parents and their children to do with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda during summer vacation. You can see content here, here, and here.

Vitafusion

To showcase Vitafusion’s availability at Costco, I developed a strategic influencer plan, identified influencers, negotiated partnerships, wrote an influencer briefing book and coordinated content creation. Please view content here, here, and here.

Gravol

I led an influencer program highlighting how Gravol can help alleviate nausea during long road trips that are popular in Canada throughout the summer. We collaborated with travel and food influencers to create authentic content that resonated with their audiences, ensuring the messaging was both engaging and relevant. You can view content here, here, and here.

"Madison completed my class as the final course in her public relations certificate. She thrived in an asynchronous, online work environment and remained driven and dedicated throughout the course. In her final project, a 20 page feature article, Madison demonstrated her ability to apply public relations theory to real-world communications problems, as well as advanced research and writing skills."
Susan McDougall
Instructor, CDPR 107, Public Relations Project Course, Ryerson University
During her internship at Charming Media, Madison’s primary duties involved social media engagement, content creation, media list creation, influencer/media outreach and drafting and sending pitches. Madison’s performance was outstanding, and her key employee traits included working effectively in a team environment, virtually and in-person, impressive writing, quickly learning new skills to succeed in her role and asking for feedback on ways to improve. My team and I loved having Madison as part of our tight-knit team, and I’m happy to provide this recommendation. I’m confident that Madison will continue to exhibit a positive performance at her next workplace.
